Cayuga Park is a mixed-use development that extends Ithaca’s city grid across the vital Route-13 corridor to create a new walkable neighborhood within Ithaca’s evolving Waterfront District. Public site features include play areas, a market plaza, as well as critical connections to two adjacent grocery stores, a seasonal farmers market, and the Cayuga Waterfront Trail. WPD has held a leadership role in the project team since the project’s conception, coordinating discussions between community groups, municipal agencies, multiple owners and investors, and project teams. Collaboratively with HOLT Architects, Passero Associates, and Barton Partners, we managed constraints concerning zoning regulations for height, building setbacks, NYSEG easements, a DOT right-of-way, and the adjacent Ithaca Community Garden. Four years after initiation, we proudly announce that Cayuga Park is scheduled to be completed in the Spring of 2024.
