Ithaca's Core Bicycle Network

Ithaca’s Core Bicycle Network

Ithaca’s Core Bicycle Network is a proposed citywide bike infrastructure plan designed to create a more connected, safe, and comfortable system for cyclists in and around Ithaca. The project focuses on two linked networks: one through Ithaca’s Flats and another connecting East Hill and surrounding urban-suburban areas, using protected bike lanes, cycle tracks, and shared-use trails to improve access to key destinations and neighborhoods.200320-DRAFT-Overall-Routes.pdf

The plan includes six priority routes: Fall Creeker, Waterfront Connector, Northside-Southside, Hill-to-Hill, Six Mile Creek Trail, and Southwest Shopper Trail. Together, these routes aim to strengthen everyday bike travel to places such as downtown, schools, parks, shopping areas, transit corridors, and community centers while upgrading streets to be safer and more welcoming for all users.
