Chain Works District

WPD coordinated the initial design team, public outreach, and preliminary municipal reviews for the Chain Works District, a 1.7 million square-foot redevelopment of the former Emerson Power transmission plant.

Aiming to transform 821,200 square feet of vacant former industrial space into a lively “live, work, play” district, the plan included apartments, office space, a small business incubator, gardens, park space, and areas devoted to manufacturing.
